摘要
More than 80% of the drinking water in the city of Galati is coming from the surface water (the Danube river). The metallic pipes are mainly on the ground and the variation of some physical and chemical parameters could affect the resistance and the life time of the drinking water supply system for more than 300 000 inhabitants. This paper analyses the pH variation depending on temperature on the basis of some measurements made in 2008 and 2009, of thermodynamic factors and of the possible influence of the corrosion potential on the water supply system. References are also made to the impact of water hardness in relation to the pH in the process of metallic pipe corrosion.
