Study of photoluminescence of Tb3+ doped Sr2CeO4 phosphor for UV LED application

摘要
Photoluminescence study of Sr2CeO4 and Sr2CeO4:Tb3+ phosphors were investigated. The phosphors were prepared by conventional solid state reaction method. X-ray powder diffraction analysis confirmed the formation of Sr2CeO4. The compound Sr2CeO4 exhibit broad emission spectrum having intensity maxima occur at 470 nm when excited at 290 as well as 355 nm. The Sr2CeO4:Tb3+ phosphor exhibit broad Ce4+-O2- charge transfer band superimposed with sharp Tb3+ emission peaks at 355 nm excitation. From the spectral properties, it is recognized that the prepared phosphors are useful in near UV excited LED, display devices and related applications. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
