摘要：

Aim of the paper is to present some collected facts for the re-invention of machine vision as green vision with smartphones. It is noteworthy that smartphones have not only a fundamental influence on machine vision itself but also on science, education and training in the fields concerned. Smartphones make machine vision green and convenient and reliable and affordable with just enough and easy-to-use apps.
