摘要：

The paper presented at the Annual Meeting of the Academic Paper Engineers' Association has to be seen in the context of the 25th Anniversary of the author as Professor and Head of She Department of Paper Science and Technology at the Darmstadt University of Technology. It deals with the two main areas of the IfP activities Education of engineers for the paper industry and allied industries as well research which covers paper technology including waste paper utilization, environmental technology including closed water systems, treatment of effluent and industrial waste and paper physics including graphic arts.
