摘要
After short period, known as nuclear renaissance, Europe faces new time when nuclear energy is under political discussion. Nevertheless some European countries still rely on future use of nuclear energy. Nuclear energy is stabilizing factor for operation of electricity grids. For further time period it will be necessary to increase the trust of public in safety of nuclear power plants, improve safety measures and also continue in research and development of new safer reactors of fourth generation. Also solving reposition of spent fuel and radioactive waste will be the task for future solution. There are some visions how to continue in the Czech Republic which comes from international experience. The Czech research and development is long time involved in the international co-operation and there are some new approaches. Flexibility and economy of future nuclear sources will be really important to be a part of Smart Grids concept. Future use of Small Modular Reactors seems to be quite interesting way of involving nuclear sources to new way of grids operation.
