To establish a resource economical and environment friendly society, building ecological residence has been a tendency of urban residential districts development. One prerequisite for the promotion and development of green ecological residence is to develop a set of index systems for the assessment of the performance of such residence, which are standardized, applicable and easily operable. Referencing to domestic and foreign present assessment systems on ecological residence and combining with the relevant policies of the government, an assessment model of matter-element analysis is presented in this paper. The reliability of the model was demonstrated by means of an example. Thus the scientific basis for making policy on ecological residential construction and management was provided.
