Polarization and angle dependent enhancement of Raman scattering from silicon nanodisks

摘要
Semiconductor nanoparticles, supporting electric and magnetic optical resonances, are promising basic elements for a number of linear and nonlinear optical applications. Here we study elastic and inelastic (Raman) light scattering on crystalline silicon nanoparticles and reveal their interrelations for both s- and p-polarized light. We demonstrate experimentally a 2-fold enhancement of Raman signal from silicon nanodisks at the magnetic dipole resonance. Our results confirm the importance of the optically-induced resonances of subwavelength silicon nan-odisks for enhancement of light-matter interaction.
