摘要
Nanocrystalline Co is prepared in amorphous silica host with volume fraction phi = 10 %. TEM images show, particles are formed in more or less spherical shape with a broad distribution of particle size which is fitted suitable with log normal distribution function giving average diameter of particles 26 nm. The sample is then oxidized in open air at 573 K, for 10 minutes to create an antiferromagnetic Co3O4 shell over ferromagnetic Co core. HR TEM image shows planes of AFM Co3O4 shell surrounding FM Co core. Exchange bias (EB) effect is seen for a wide range of temperature from 5 K up to 250 K. Temperature dependence of EB effect is studied. H-E and H-C show nearly same variations.
