摘要
We recorded three fatal attacks of lions Panthera leo on local people in the Luangwa Valley, eastern Zambia. Two of the three likely perpetrators, an adult female and a subadult male were shot. Data on the range use of this small pride and other large neighbouring prides, showed that the large prides mostly ranged within a national park. The small pride kept away from the large prides, and mostly set their range in a game management area which includes a densely human populated area. Such a situation increases the chances of conflicting encounters between lions and local people.
