摘要
A compact multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with high inter-element isolation without any decoupling network for UWB applications is proposed in this communication. Each antenna element is realized by etching the stepped slots in the ground plane. The stepped slot antenna not only reduces the footprint of the proposed antenna, but also provides directional radiation behavior which leads to high isolation among them. Each of the antenna element is radiating in one of the four cardinal directions, that results in multidirectional radiation characteristics. The prototype of the proposed antenna is fabricated and measured. The size of the compact UWB MIMO antenna is 24 X 24 X 0.8mm(3). The designed antenna radiates (S-11 <= 210 dB) in the frequency spectrum of 3 GHz-10.9 GHz, with inter-element isolation better than 20 dB. The acceptable values of envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) and channel capacity loss (CCL) guarantees good MIMO performance. (C) 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
