摘要
This paper presents a voltage control strategy for a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM). The control algorithm proposed in this paper allows the STATCOM to regulate the voltage at a remote bus of a power system. The mathematical modelings and control-loops developed for the static compensator are validated through results of digital simulations. The results presented show that the STATCOM can regulate the voltage at a remote bus in real-time. Moreover, it is shown also that, if the STATCOM regulates the voltage of the remote bus at the nominal value of the system, the voltages of the upstream buses of the power system may exceed its limits.
