A critique of violence on Walter Benjamin: historical and temporal implications of the concept of reine Gewalt

"ZurKritik der Gewalt", published in August 1921, in ArchivfurSozialwissenschaft und Sozialpolitik, attempt to treats the demarcation of a violence (Gewalt) outside (ausserhalb) or beyond (jenseits) the law: one "pure violence" (reine Gewalt), which would break the dialectic of mythical violence that would establish and retain the legal system. This article seeks to establish some problematizations about this concept in the philosophy of Walter Benjamin and some contemporary interpreters, seeking to combine the concept of reine Gewalt with Benjamin's reflections on time and history.
