A Novel UWB Antenna with Quintuple Band-Notched Characteristics

摘要
A novel quintuple band-notched UWB antenna is proposed in this article. The proposed antenna is printed on a substrate Rogers 4003 with an overall size of 31x30x1.5mm(3). The band-notched characteristics are achieved by etching a U-shaped slot on the patch and a pair of symmetrical L-shaped slots on the ground plane, adding a T-shaped stub and two C-shaped stub near the microstrip line. The notch frequency is easy to adjust by changing the length of slots and stubs. The simulated results show that the presented antenna can guarantee a wide bandwidth from 2.7 to 11 GHz (VSWR<2) with quintuple band notches (VSWR>9). All the peak gains are smaller than 0 dB at the notch frequencies. The proposed antenna can not only provide five designated rejection bands, but also have good impedance characteristics and quasi-omnidirectional radiation patterns, making it very suitable for modern UWB communication applications.
