摘要
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is expected to produce a vast amount of images that need to be disseminated efficiently for astronomical research and education. In order to design an effective and efficient transmission system, the first step is to investigate the end-to-end transmission behavior of astronomical images, and to create a theoretical model that has the capability to describe the characteristics of the traffic. In our research, a number of realistic image browsing scenarios were created using Network Simulator, and their traffic traces were analyzed against various theoretical traffic models. Through model verification, two-state hidden Markov model proves to be the best match to the simulated transmission behavior. Experimental results are presented in this paper to support the above conclusion.
