Degradation of the Herbicide (2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid) Using a Photoreactor with Exciplex Lamps

摘要
We present the results of tests of a compact flow-through reactor for neutralization of a broad class of persistent toxic compounds. As the toxicant we used the herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, and we used exciplex lamps with different emission wave lengths (lambda similar to 222 nm and 172 nm). We show the experimental decrease in the amount of organic compounds vs. irradiation time as obtained from the absorption spectra.
