摘要
The present investigation deals with the selection of polyalcohols such as sorbitol, monitol, glycerol, and propylene diol or poly ethylene glycol on the biosynthesis of alpha amylase by parental and mutant strain of Bacillus licheniformis. Both the strains gave enhancement in enzyme formation by the addition,of sorbitol (0.3 M) to the fermentation medium. The production of,alpha amylase in stirred fermentor. without sorbitol reached maximum 44h after inoculation, while the production was reached maximum only in 40h by the addition of sorbitol.
