摘要
The four wave mixing power generated by neighbor optical channels and source spontaneous emission act as additive noise components in a transmitted signal. We present a generalized formulation based on beating processes between signal and noise components including the four wave mixing, source spontaneous emission and shot noise impairments to evaluate the fiber Noise Figure. This formulation can be used to quantify the transmission performance penalty due to four wave mixing processes along the transmission when many different additive noise components are acting on the signal. Numerical simulation results showed good agreement with the results from our model.
