摘要
In this paper a theoretical analysis of the effect of applied magnetic field on radial squeezing force of magnetorheological(MR) fluid within the gap between two cylinders is presented. Based on the momentum equation of continuum mechanics, the expression of the radial pressure in the MR fluid is derived to provide the theoretical foundations in the analysis of fluid's squeezing force between two cylinders. The results indicate that the squeezing force of MR fluid between two cylinders can be modified by the applied magnetic field strength.
