摘要：
The basics of a new method for diagnosis in perinatology is presented. Its idea consists of the application of infrared camera together with computer running specialized programs for image processing. This method is non-invasive and therefore it is possible to apply in pregnant women as well as in newborns. Thermography seems to be the only non-invasive and rapid method that allows diagnosing chorioamnionitis in subclinical cases with or without PROM symptoms (premature rupture of membranes). Thermography has limited value as a tool for neonatal infection screening.
