摘要
Problem-based Learning (PBL) is a learning method aiming to improve students' problem solving skills, critical thinking and self directed learning. It shifted the teacher-oriented approach to student-oriented approach. Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) commenced PBL effort in 2006. One of the courses that involved with PBL pilot implementation is System Analysis and Design (SAD) course, which is a core course in Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT). A hybrid approach has been adopted in teaching and learning process which composed of 70% of PBL and 30% of traditional lecture. This paper will discuss the problems regarding the assessment process of PBL for SAD course in UUM. Based on the observation, the researchers suggested that customizable rubrics should be implemented. A study has been conducted to get the feedback and requirements, from both lecturers and students in order to improvise the assessment process. The finding can be used as guidelines for the better assessment process for PBL implementation especially for computer related courses.
