Imaging Systems Technology (IST), is developing Plasma-sphere (TM) synthetic scene generators with 1,000 levels of gray and a 1,000 Hz frame rate and a brightness between 5,000cd/m(2) and 15,000cd/m(2). This is accomplished with a novel high frequency sustain drive. The enclosed pixel structure of the Plasma-sphere (TM) makes a high-frequency drive scheme possible while still maintaining good memory margin. Plasma-sphere (TM) is a trademark of IST.
