Dielectric properties of piezoelectric transducer materials measured at high electric field

摘要
The dielectric permittivity (epsilon(3)(T)) and loss factor (tan delta) play an important role in performance evaluation as well as selection of proper piezoelectric materials for the high electric field driven transmitting electrochemical transducer devices. The electric field dependence of dielectric permittivity and loss factor have been studied and reported for the hard NPLZT-4B, soft NPLZT-5A and stabilised NPLZT-6A piezoelectric ceramic materials developed at NPL (India). The dielectric permittivity and loss factor are observed to increase with increase of the applied electric field and a marked difference is observed for the NPLZT-5A piezoelectric material for low power transducer devices in comparison to NPLZT-4B, the piezoelectric material for high power transducer devices.
