Structural characterization of {1013} twin boundaries in deformed cobalt

摘要
Using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, we characterized the interfacial structure of {1 0 (1) over bar 3} twinning boundaries (TBs) in deformed cobalt, and found that TBs consist of {1 0 (1) over bar 3} TBs, {1 0 (1) over bar (1) over bar} TBs, basal-pyramidal (BPy) and pyramidal-basal (PyB) interfaces. The existence of {1 0 (1) over bar (1) over bar} TBs, BPy and PyB interfaces is responsible for the deviation of the actual {1 0 (1) over bar 3} TB from the theoretical twinning plane. Correspondingly, the migration of TBs attributed to the glide of twinning disconnections is discussed. (C) 2015 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
