摘要
In this paper, application of a new multilevel inverter for DTC based induction motor drive is studied. The proposed multilevel inverter uses multiple series units of switching cells to achieve staircase voltage waveform with low harmonic distortion. Each cell is implemented using a DC source, a power switch and a diode. Topology and operation of the suggested multilevel inverter is studied. The requirements imposed by a direct torque control (DTC) strategy on multilevel inverters are studied and then, a control strategy is applied to fulfill the mentioned requirements. DTC based induction motor drive using the multilevel inverter is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK The simulation results verify the proper operation of the suggested multilevel inverter for DTC based induction motor drive.
