The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a learning theory-based EFL(English as a Foreign Language) e-tutoring platform to help EFL learners develop English language skills in their own pace. The online e-tutoring platform was designed based on learning theories of constructivism, situated learning theory, cooperative learning, and self-regulated learning. It is intended that the online e-tutoring platform can provide an opportunity for e-tutors to facilitate each individual EFL learner to develop his/her language skills. A group of 25 six graders participated in the 20 week e-tutoring program via the online EFL e-tutoring platform. Analysis of Results from the participants' achievement tests and feedback from the e-tutors helped to inform future improvements of e-tutoring programs. Recommendations for platform improvements were also provided.
