摘要
The modelling of chatter in grinding has been the subject of much research. The majority of the theoretical analyses have ignored the effects of torsional vibration in both the spindle system and the workpiece drive. A recent paper has indicated that these torsional effects could be significant and a frequency domain analysis has been presented. As the analysis was very complex, certain assumptions were made to achieve a linear model. This paper describes a time domain model of chatter in grinding including torsional effects, which has the potential to include many non-linear effects that have not been included in any previous analysis.
