摘要
Enyne metathesis has evolved into a useful synthetic reaction. The two families of metal catalysts available show functional group compatibility with a range of functional groups encountered en route to simple heterocycles and natural products. Intermolecular enyne metathesis is inherently cross selective and provides useful products that can be used as building blocks in synthesis by the use of consecutive, venerable reactions such as the Diels-Alder cycloaddition. Many applications have used the dienes in this way but further development of heterofunctionalization strategies is foreseeable.
