摘要
The accumulation of observational data at high resolution has increased the demand for numerical simulation of crustal deformation using 3-D high-fidelity models. In this study, an automatic mesh-generation method for a 3-D high-fidelity finite element model without computer-aided design model or manual tuning was developed and then used in a fast numerical simulation of crustal deformation. The calculation is accelerated by an iterative solver based on a geometric multigrid, variable preconditioning and multiple-precision arithmetic. After verifying the accuracy of the proposed method, we conducted a numerical simulation of the crustal deformation of a giant earthquake to demonstrate its usefulness.
