摘要：

A series of novel 3-hepta-O-benzoyl-beta-D-lactosylimino-4-aryl-5-p-tolylimino-1,2,4-dithiazolidines [hydrochloride] has been synthesized by the interaction of several 1-hepta-O-benzoyl-beta-D-lactosyl-3-aryl thiocarbamides with N-p-tolyl-S-chloro isothiocarbamoyl chloride. These compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities against Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris. Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhimurim, Klebsiella pneumonie, Psudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. The newly synthesized compounds have been characterized by analytical and IR, H-1 NMR and Mass spectral studies. These compounds show appreciable activity towards these microorganisms.
