摘要
This paper presents the feasibility research phase of an industrial sponsored project to develop a robust inspection gauge to control the quality of the weld of two thin metal sheets at a high speed. A 3D surface profiling technique based on laser stripe projection and triangulation has been evaluated experimentally on actual weld samples. A respectable measurement resolution has been achieved which is well within the requirements specified by the sponsor.
