摘要
For CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the evaluation of plain images in combination with contrast-enhanced (CE) images is considered important. US contrast agents (UCA) are a new class of agents. In combination with contrast-specific scanning techniques, these agents have opened up exciting possibilities of Further improving the diagnostic capability of transabdominal US and EUS to detect or characterize focal lesions, to obtain better visualization of the blood Supply (vessels and perfusion),and even to perform Molecular imaging (tissue phenotype, enzymatic activity, or gene expression). The 3 main objectives of this review are to (1) describe the mechanism of action of UCAs, (2) identify currently available UCAs, and (3) evaluate the role of UCAs in EUS.
