Determination of a stimulated emission cross section gradient on the basis of the performance of a diode-end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser

摘要
A stimulated emission cross section gradient of an Nd:YVO4 laser at the F-4(3/2)-I-4(11/2) transition has been shown on the basis of an input-output characteristic. In this study, a diode-end-pumped Nd: YVO4 laser has been achieved for variation of the temperature over the range 15-35 degrees C. The stimulated cross section gradient revealed by this method is ( -6.67 +/- 0.28) x 10(-21) cm(2) degrees C-1, with an average change with respect to the reference for the stimulated emission cross section of ( -0.486 +/- 0.022) % degrees C-1. This is in good agreement with the result obtained by a spectroscopic method taking into account the error attributed during experimental work.
