摘要
The problem of inferring entanglement on the basis of incomplete prior information [R. Horodecki et al., Phys. Rev. A 59, 1799 (1999)] is reexamined with regard to operators of a more general character than the ones discussed by these authors. We show that different inference schemes are affected by the problem of overestimating the amounts of entanglement (AOE). For bipartite quantum systems, states containing the maximum and minimum possible AOE are derived explicitly.
