Efficacy of laser scatter in Eales disease

Eales disease is common in India and constitutes an important cause of blindness among young adults. Direct treatment of neovessels either alone or in combination with a scatter laser has remained the treatment of choice in Eales disease. In a prospective study of 63 eyes, 43 patients with Eales disease were treated with neovascularization using scatter laser photocoagulation alone. Regression was achieved in 57 eyes (90%) with few complications.
