摘要
Ecocity planning is currently a new and hot research subject in China. From 2002, we have been involved in such projects for the East China region: ecocity planning for Changshu, Taicang, Wujiang and Suzhou. One component of these projects is to develop a computer system called ecocity information and decision support system. This system may be considered as an extension of environmental information system to include social and economic components. It can be imagined that such a system would be huge and complicated. This paper describes the conceptual design and the practical problems in developing such a system.
