摘要
The paper deals with the early stage of the history of Soviet classical studies. The main focus of the article is on the development of classical studies in the regions, namely in Samara city in 1917-1922. The formation of classical studies in Samara is associated with the organization of the Pedagogical Institute in 1917, which was transformed later in a year into a university. In total, over the course of five years, up to six classical scholars worked at the university. They came from universities famous for their long traditions of studying antiquity (St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev, Kazan universities) and were mainly masters. 1919-1920 can be considered as a peak of the development of classical studies in Samara university. Studying process was built largely according to the pre-revolutionary traditions.
