摘要：

In this paper we discuss about possibilities of rapeseed production as a base for biodiesel production and its economic effects in rural economy in Istria. Therefore authors examined possibilities for rapeseed production and its possible transverse to oil-biodiesel. Effects of such a production chain could affect rural economy in positive ways. Authors question following effects: what are the natural resources for rapeseed production; is there sufficient rapeseed production as base for oil; how the production chain can affect rural economy. Further authors argue the hypothesis that biodiesel reproduction has possibilities for improvements in agricultural land use, employment and rural economy development.
