A Study of the Effect of Annealing Temperature on Structural, Magnetic, and Microwave Properties of Barium Hexaferrite Nanoparticles With and Without Substitutions

In this work, the magnetic and electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of pure BaM and Al-Cr-Nd-substituted BaM ferrite prepared by a co-precipitation technique with different annealing temperatures (900, 1000, and 1100 a similar to C) were investigated. To study the structural characteristics of ferrites, X-ray diffraction analysis was used and the resultant patterns with various annealing temperatures at 900, 1000, and 1100 a similar to C were compared. In addition, the investigation of the morphology of nanoparticles was carried out by field emission scanning electron microscopy. Fourier-transform infrared analysis was utilized to confirm the formation of hexagonal ferrite phase for powders annealed at 900, 1000, and 1100 a similar to C. A vibrating sample magnetometer was used, in order to examine the magnetic properties of synthesized hexaferrites. The study of microwave properties was carried out by a vector network analyzer. The results showed that the maximum absorption value (-13.46 dB) was attributed to the sample having the x content of 0.5 and annealed at 900 a similar to C, with the bandwidth of 3.8 GHz being higher than -5 dB.
