摘要：

3-Phenylisoxazol-5-one (1) reacts with hippuric acid and ethyl orthoformate in acetic anhydride to give 4-(5-keto-2-phenyloxazolin-4-ylmethylene)-3-phenylisoxazol-5-one (4) in a single step.
