摘要
This paper presents applications of one operating 220 kV and the other constructing 500kV Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) projects in Jiangsu power system. The operating UPFC project in Nanjing Western Power Grid (NWPG) will be firstly introduced. Necessity and feasibility to utilise UPFC will be discussed. Capacity requirement and topology optimization of UPFC will be analyzed. Detailed parameters of the UPFC project will also be presented. After the description of real worked UPFC project, necessity and feasibility of the constructing 500kV UPFC project in Suzhou Southern Power Grid (SSPG) will be briefly talked. Huge economic and social benefits are obtained with the applications of UPFC.
