摘要
In the time of intense industrialization microwave hybrid heating employed for joining metallic materials has come out to be a novel process. This process eliminates many of the limitations of the conventional joining processes. Microwave hybrid heating has gained popularity in the recent past due to many of its advantages over conventional joining processes like better physical and mechanical properties with reduced defects and also it is a rapid process which makes it less energy consuming hence economical. This process is capable of joining many materials including non-metallic and metallic materials. This paper reviews the joining of Inconel alloys through microwave energy as well as other prominent techniques. Microwave hybrid heating has been used for joining of Inconel alloys such as Inconel-625 and Inconel-718. Standard operating procedures for the microwave joining of Inconel alloys and its process optimization need to be investigated in more details. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
