摘要
The use of frequency-reconfigurable antenna structures for consumer-type mobile multi-radio platform has been increased significantly. These antennas are commonly equipped with several switches, which are controlled by dc bias signals. These antennas can also be used as an alternative of multiband antennas structures. Frequency-reconfigurable antenna has inherent bandpass characteristics, which provide excellent out-of-band rejection without using filters. These antennas can be reconfigured to support a discrete set of operating frequencies by turning switch on and off. These antennas are suitable for patch antennas, wire antennas, and planar inverted F antennas (PIFAs) due to their frequency reconfigurability. Integration of different radios into a single wireless module and low-cost-low-driving-voltage RF-MEMS switches has made, reconfigurable multiband antennas, a suitable technology for multi-radio wireless platforms.
