摘要
Surface modified silica nanoparticles (NPs), were synthesized using 2-mercaptobenzimidazol (MBI) and poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) as organic corrosion inhibitors and characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and thermo-garavimetric analysis (TGA). The effect of incorporating different concentrations of SiO2-MBI and SiO2-PEG NPs in an epoxy resin, on corrosion protection properties of coated steel panels, was investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization. Also mechanical properties and Surface morphology of nanocomposite samples determined by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA). Results, approved the effective role of NPs, in active corrosion protection and barrier properties of the coated samples.
