摘要
This paper describes the processes of protein degradation in the diet and the microbial protein synthesis in rumen. Also, there is reference to the main factors affecting the microbial protein synthesis. Those affecting the most the cattle feeding systems in the tropics are emphasized. mainly the effect of the sources of carbohydrates and proteins, the level of voluntary intake, the synchronization of the rumen functions, the rumen recycle of microorganisms, and the presence of antinutrients. Finally, reference is made to the importance of the microbial protein synthesis in rumen, its contribution to the animal, and the quality of its amino acid content.
