摘要
In the last decade, Rozen's reagent (HOF center dot CH3CN) has been shown to be powerful yet selective enough to oxidize thiophene moieties in various environments. The resulting thiophene-S,S-dioxides display attractive properties for electronic devices, in particular a reduced HOMO-LUMO band gap. This highlight illustrates how utilizing this unprecedentedly potent oxidizing agent allows access to an exciting new family of molecules that show great promise for semiconductors.
