摘要
The laboratory experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of water stress in seed of six local bean populations with different treatments (T1=24 h; T2=48 h; T3=72 h). The experiment was set up as randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates. For germination studies, 100 healthy seeds for each replication were placed on filter paper in Petri dishes by repeating the aforementioned procedure. Filter papers were replaced after every 48 h to minimize the risk of fungal attack. The observations regarding germination were made after every 24, 48 and 72 h, and continued till the completion of germination. These Petri dishes were then placed in a germinator at 25 degrees C by arranging them in a completely randomized design (CRD). Results showed that water stress treatments significantly (LSD p=0.05) was in treatment Ti after 24, then 48 and 72 h. From the results, the total average value for the coefficient of capacity imbibitions (CCI) on the Ti was 0.72. Higher capacity of imbibitions (CI) was determined on seed bean coded as FA-04 with average value 0.88. While low values were found on local bean population coded as FA-05 with value 0.51. The total variations of the extreme values of CI were d=+0.37, high significant difference for the LSD p=0.01.
