摘要
A new synthetic strategy to prepare dendrimers using a single, inexpensive monomer is described. Divergent growth relies on a highly efficient, metal-free Click cycloaddition of azides to alkynes. Functional dendrimers are obtained with minimal purification in high yields, with no by-product but a water soluble salt, and the excess of monomer used can be recycled at each stage of the iterative synthesis. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
