摘要
Two main directions of apple breeding were accomplished in Poland in the last decades: resistance to scab and powdery mildew, and winter apples for long storage. The result of this programme is seven registered new cultivars: 'Egeria', 'Ligol', 'Ligolina', 'Lodel', 'Medea', 'Odra', 'Redkroft'. They are in commercial production in Poland and 'Ligol' is one of the most important cultivars on the Polish market. In the case of 'Ligol' and 'Ligolina', fruits can be stored all year round without altering their quality. Trees of 'Odra' are resistant to scab and powdery mildew and winter hardy under Polish climatic conditions. Fruits of 'Odra' are not only dessert ones, but have very high processing value. The remaining cultivars: 'Egeria', 'Lodel', 'Medea', 'Redkroft' are winter dessert fruits of high quality. 'Egeria' and 'Medea' show polygenic resistance to scab. Authors of all above-mentioned cultivars are A.A. Przybyla and S.W. Zagaja.
