Glass/Ni-P/Co-Fe-P three layer hollow microspheres: Controlled fabrication and magnetic properties

摘要
Core/shell structured glass/Ni-P/Co-Fe-P composite hollow microspheres are fabricated by a three-step route (spray drying-melting-seed induced chemical reduction). The combination of hollow inner core and the metallic shell endow the composite spheres low density (ca. 0.91 g/cm(3)) and ferromagnetic properties, and thus promising applications in the fields of low-density magnetic materials, conduction, and catalysis, etc. This work provides an additional strategy to fabricate core/shell structured composite microspheres with tailored shell composition and magnetic properties.
