摘要：
Aging causes older adults to quickly experience a decline in muscle mass, muscle strength, and joint mobility, with immobilization that is common in critical illness. Early and progressive mobilization can reduce these losses, but may be missed in many patients. Nearly all older patients can participate in progressive mobility programs tailored to their status. Development of protocols with the intensive care unit team promotes consistent implementation of mobilization in older patients.
